As well as pulling together news, opinion and useful resources, we want to develop a space for creative debate on the future of flood risk, and encourage participation from the flood risk management community and everyone else with a stake in the future of flooding in the UK. This animation shows a flood event that has a 1% chance of occuring in any given year at Crayford, south east London. Click here for a more detailed view.

Mapping technology allows us to present material to illustrate flood risk in new and interactive ways. Combining TUFLOW software and Google Maps, for instance, allows spatial data to be displayed to stakeholders who may not have access to full-blown stand-alone GIS applications.
