Press Release
Entec strengthens waste team

Issue date: 13th December 2007

Entec has appointed Ken Walsh as Technical Director for the waste sector. Based in Reading, Ken will be leading Entec’s business development efforts with waste contractor customers, local authority waste customers and the wider supply chain of professionals and contractors with a stake in the transformation of the UK's waste infrastructure.

Ken joins Entec from WRG Ltd, where he gained considerable experience in leading PFI/PPP projects and tenders. Ken has also worked for SITA and is qualified in Economics and international politics, waste management and general management.

Doug Morton, Commercial Director at Entec, said: "Entec is arguably the market leading technical adviser to local authority waste clients helping them to buy in new assets and services via PFI/PPP. We therefore know the mind of the customer and with Ken's experience we have a deeper insight into the needs of the waste management company as supplier in the PFI/PPP context. So our model is to help them win and then support them all the way through to delivery and operations. Under Ken's direction and drawing from the wide range of Entec skills, including crucially project management, civil and process engineering, we see waste procurement as a real opportunity to expand our waste related activity.”
