Entec to Support UKAEA Harwell Decommissioning Strategy
Issue date: 27 October 2004
United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) has appointed Entec to provide civil engineering design and consultancy services for the rationalisation of the Harwell drainage systems.
The project forms an integral part of UKAEA’s decommissioning and delicensing strategy for its site at Harwell, Oxfordshire. This two-year commission builds upon the relationships developed between UKAEA Harwell and Entec over the past few years.
Entec will support UKAEA through the application of project management, engineering and environmental services, in the decommissioning of over 25 kilometres of trade and active drainage systems together with transferring trade effluent discharges to the public foul sewerage system.
Entec’s Project Manager, Julian Henley said: “This
is an important contract win as it further enhances Entec’s capability
within the nuclear sector and builds upon the established relationship with
UKAEA.”
