Press Release
Entec Expands Nuclear Team
Issue date: 10 November 2004
Entec has appointed Matthew Keep as a Principal Consultant within the nuclear team. Based in the London office Matthew will lead Entec’s environmental compliance services to the nuclear industry.
Matthew formerly worked for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), regulating radioactive substances in the Highlands and Islands. During this period, most of his time was spent at UKAEA’s site at Dounreay, initially focusing on waste management issues and latterly investigating historic pollution incidents. Since 2003 he has also represented SEPA on the NDA’s National Regulatory Forum, the aim of which was to address regulatory issues arising from setting up the NDA.
Prior to this Matthew worked for AWE Aldermaston where he was responsible for providing waste management and support services to facilities handling radioactive materials.
Phil Sinclair, Entec’s Technical Director, says: “Matthew
joins Entec just as the nuclear industry is about to undergo a major change
with the establishment in 2005 of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).
Our clients will benefit from Matthew’s experience in working for both
nuclear site operators and regulators. His appointment is a key step in the
implementation of Entec’s business development strategy for the nuclear
sector.”
