Press Release
New Associate Director Joins Corporate Social Responsibility Team

Issue date: 2 February 2005

Entec has appointed Maurice Hoban as an associate director based in the London office. He will be responsible for increasing Entec’s activities within the area of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Maurice has more than 11 years experience in CSR strategy, governance, stakeholder engagement, performance systems, indicator development and social and environmental reporting.

When asked how he thought CSR will change over the next few years Maurice replied: “Many thought CSR would just go away, but it continues to grow no matter what people call it. I expect the focus to shift internally as companies start closing the gap between what they say they are doing and actual practice. And in a year when some companies will be defining and reporting on ‘non-financial risk’ for the first time, I hear stakeholders asking more and more how all this effort into CSR will actually influence the products and services that companies provide – how are they becoming more sustainable, responsible and profitable?”

Maurice formerly worked for Corporate Edge where he was head of corporate social responsibility. Prior to that, he worked as a senior policy analyst at the Ministry for the Environment in New Zealand.

Entec’s Director, Jim Kersey said: “Entec has a wide range of skills and experience on corporate responsibility and sustainability. With his background in CSR, Maurice adds to these resources and will help us to focus on accelerating the development and provision of our CSR services”.
