Issue date: 11 July 2006

Entec has appointed Phil Hayes as a Water Management Principal Consultant based in the Shrewsbury office. Phil has 13 years’ experience as a hydrogeologist and specialist groundwater modeller and his role at Entec will help expand Entec’s modelling capabilities and development of modelling services such as detailed uncertainty analysis. One of Phil’s first projects with Entec will involve working on the regional modelling of the Lincolnshire Chalk and Spilsby Sandstone aquifer for the Environment Agency.

Phil is a Fellow of the Geological Society and has a PhD from the University of Birmingham in groundwater modelling involving research that led into the development of the innovative ZoomQ3D model. Prior to working at Entec he worked for Water Management Consultants in the mining, energy and water resources sectors, which included 4 years based in Chile where his work included regional water resource investigations, variable density modelling studies and open pit dewatering / slope stability modelling for the Escondida Mine in the Atacama desert.

Rob Soley, Associate Director with Entec said “We are delighted that Phil is joining our growing group of groundwater modellers to deepen our project management base and stretch us into areas of model optimisation and streamlining, to ensure Entec is at the forefront of current developments in UK practice."
