Entec Undertakes West Midlands Climate Change Study |
Entec is undertaking a study focusing on the potential impacts of climate change on the West Midlands region.
Commissioned by Sustainability West Midlands, the study is the latest in Entec's growing climate change portfolio, having previously completed projects in London for the Greater London Authority and in the East Midlands for the Environment Agency.
The main objectives of the study will be to establish the likely impact of climate change on the region and to identify potential adaptation strategies. The project will also aim to raise awareness of climate change within the West Midlands and to identify any key information gaps and uncertainties in assessing the impacts. Finally, it will recommend the best ways to respond.
Project Manager, Chris Hughes, said: "This study will ensure that the West Midlands has a clearer picture of any potential impacts that climate change may have on the region. There are both disadvantages and benefits and the study will cover all aspects."
The study is due for completion in summer 2003.
