Entec Wins Major Partnering Contract with Scottish Water Solutions

Entec has won a major partnering contract with Scottish Water Solutions (SWS) to be the south west regional design consultant on non-infrastructure projects. The contract runs from April 2004 to March 2006.

SWS is a unique partnership established to deliver 70% of Scottish Water's £1.8 billion capital investment programme. The partnership consists of eight partners; United Utilities, Morgan Est, Galliford Try, Thames Water, Gleeson, Alfred McAlpine, KBR and Scottish Water.

SWS represents a new business model for the water industry, a limited company within a publicly owned organisation. Scottish Water owns 51% of SWS, the remainder is split equally among the other partners.

Under the new arrangement, Entec staff are already working alongside SWS staff in teams located in SWS and Entec offices. The programme of work is such that Entec is rolling out a resourcing plan which aims to provide more than 30 staff by early summer 2004, the majority of whom will be based in the Glasgow office.

The framework arrangement also includes the facility for Scottish Water to employ Entec for work beyond the requirements of SWS.
