Entec
Records Another
Period of Growth
Entec’s strategy of growing its business organically
has continued to be successful with performance for the 15 months ended 31
March 2004 showing further improvements. Turnover for the period was £48.5m
which represents an annualised growth rate of 16.2%. The operating profit for
the period increased to 4.7%.
Entec enters the next phase of its development with excellent fundamentals
as a result of investments made to date.
- A loyal customer base who support our approach
to business and rate our service highly. Encouragingly, the Entec customer feedback process has returned
excellent results again. The overall customer satisfaction average increased
from 8.3 out of 10 in the year to 31 December 2002 to 8.4 in the 15 months
to 31 March 2004 and shows that our customers appreciate our efforts to keep
on improving across the board.
- A highly motivated, capable and growing resource
base. Staff recruitment is central to Entec’s organic growth strategy
and the last 15 months have continued the positive trend with the average
number of employees
increasing by 14% to 568.
- Increased market presence across a more diverse
range of markets. A key factor in Entec’s growth is that over the last 5 years, turnover outside
its work with sister company Northumbrian Water has increased by 142% and now
represents 78% of total company turnover. This is a significant shift in emphasis
for both Entec’s client base and its range of environmental and engineering
services, which are now more diverse than ever before.
- Effective delivery capabilities combining an expanding
office network, with excellent IT links and continuously developing
management information
systems
(MIS). The UK network of offices has been increased to 12 with new offices
in Bristol and Dounreay opening to better serve clients in those areas.
MIS developments include a new online Project Management Best Practice Guide
alongside
a new Integrated Project Audit system.
Simon Armes-Reardon, Entec’s Managing Director said: “Overall,
this has been a very good period for Entec and the improvements reinforce our
strategy of growing the business organically and profitably. We’ve made
considerable investments in the overall development of our business and I’m
satisfied that we have the foundations on which to maintain and build our future
growth”.
