Entec Wins Key Defence Estates Contract

Entec has won the prestigious Defence Estates Environmental Consultant Services contract following its success in the OGCbuying.solutions Environmental Advice, Support and Delivery Framework. Under the contract, which runs until September 2009, Entec will provide consultancy related to environmental protection, environmental assessments, environmental management and corporate management.

Services span strategic environmental assessment, environmental impact assessment and related studies, development planning, land quality, energy and waste management, environmental management systems and audit, risk and cost analysis.

A key aspect will be the long term, holistic approach to service delivery. This has been encapsulated in a ‘partnering principles’ document, allowing close working relationships and the sharing of skills, experience and innovation in service delivery.

For Entec the contract represents continuation of support to Defence Estates which has previously been provided through Specialist Term Commissions for Town and Country Planning and Environmental Engineering. While encompassing these areas of work the new contract will allow a broader scope of services to be provided on a national basis.

Iain Findlay, Entec’s Director of Planning and Environmental Appraisal and its Defence Estates account manager said “I am personally delighted at this outcome having worked closely with many colleagues at Defence Estates for over ten years, and for Entec it represents a terrific opportunity to build on our success to date.”
