Statements of Community Involvement, LGA Conference, London
Jeffrey Lee, Principal Consultant in Entec's Planning & Environmental Appraisal team, is speaking at the Local Government Association conference on Statements of Community Involvement (SCIs) on 12th October. The event takes place at the LGA's conference centre at Smith Square, London, and is intended to provide an opportunity to hear from lead policy formers from the ODPM and Planning Inspectorate and from practitioners with direct experience and a reputation for exemplary practice.
The new planning system requires each local planning authority to prepare an SCI, setting out how they will involve the local community in the preparation of their new Local Development Framework. Jeffrey's presentation will draw on Entec's work for ODPM on Local Development Frameworks and Community Strategies, recent projects on community engagement strategies, and the ongoing preparation of SCIs for Dover and Sevenoaks District Councils.
Other speakers will include Nicholas Falk of URBED, Leonora Rozee of the Planning Inspectorate, Paul Shevlin of Oswestry Borough Council and Irene Evison of Rural Resources.
