North East Quiz Night 2004 (mark 2)

The quest for useless knowledge continued at Newcastle with another good turn out for the twice-yearly quiz night. The energy generated from the mental effort of 56 Entec trivia monsters won’t threaten windfarms, and may not be sustainable, but knowing that almost all of them can identify the pilot of each Thunderbird craft generates a certain warmth.

Nine teams got down to business, all seeking to win the specially commissioned winners medals, hand crafted from rare materials salvaged from the F3 toilet refurbishment! One team, the Swampys, led all the way until getting bogged down in the last round, allowing the Jessies to lurch into the winning slot. The Bullies team got their comeuppance by finishing in last place, winning an Entec t-shirt each (the budget wouldn’t stretch to the usual wooden spoons) and the honour of arranging the next event.

Viv (oh that’s near enough) Webster was the very generous referee and scorer on the night, Brian Crow filled the sparkly quizmaster’s shirt and 56 ‘quizzlings’ made the whole thing a success.
