Entec Sponsors RTPI Climate Change Conference

Climate change is the greatest environmental challenge facing the world today. Already we have seen a change in weather patterns with an increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. The impact on social, economic and environmental factors will be vast and planners play one of the most important roles in tackling climate change.

Entec is sponsoring the RTPI Planning for Climate Change conference on 7th November at the Strand Palace Hotel, London. The conference gives planners and environmental bodies the opportunity to:

• Listen to representatives from Government on their policies for climate change;
• Understand what planners can and can’t do about climate change;
• Learn about outstanding examples of planning for climate change, and what made them possible;
• Look at ways of improving renewable energy sources and;
• Understand the impact of climate change on biodiversity.

Entec director James Hall is discussing planning and microgeneration in the afternoon session, including domestic retrofit, new build residential (the Merton Rule rolls out) and developing the planning and technical skill base.
